The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
March 11, 5:55 p.m.: A woman upset with a group of teens playing basketball on Olcott Street reportedly came out to threaten them so they would stop. The women came out holding a can of Budweiser, and said. “I am going to let my dogs out. I want to see you run.” She then went over to her gate, opened it, and told her dogs to “Go! Go! Go!” The dogs stayed in their yard. Police arrested the 50-year-old Watertown woman on a charge of disorderly conduct.
March 11, 8 p.m.: Target security spotted a woman with her young daughter placing items in a shopping bag and tried to leave. When security stopped her and began taking her to the security office the woman’s daughter began screaming and ran out the door. The woman ran after her, got into a car and drove away. Security got her license plate number and police were able to locate the car on Robert Ford Road and found she had a suspended license. The 50-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting over $100 and driving with a suspended license.
March 12, 4:10 p.m.: A man was spotted in Target pushing around a cart with merchandise inside. He had two security cameras in their boxes and a soft-sided cooler. When he got to the area of the register he put one of the security cameras in the cooler and then tried to leave without paying. The 32-year-old Allston man was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.
March 12, 5:35 p.m.: A man was stopped at Marshall’s in the Arsenal Mall after he was spotted putting items in a bag and attempted to leave without paying. He gave security a false name, but Watertown Police recognized him from prior incidents. The 18-year-old Watertown man was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.
Incidents
March 7, 2:20 p.m.: An employee of a business on Galen Street discovered someone too close to $900 from a lock box left in the desk of one of the employees. Police are investigating.
March 7, 8:10 p.m.: A bike was left unlocked in a rack outside the Watertown Library. When the owner returned about half an hour later the bike was gone. It was a purple and grey Trek mountain bike.
March 8, 12 p.m.: A car was vandalized while it was parked on Elton Avenue. There were scratches on the hood and the left side of the vehicle.
March 8, 6:15 p.m.: Target security spotted a woman in the electronic section of the store and took three items and put them in a bag and tried to leave the store. The 21-year-old Boston woman was summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
March 9, 9:15 a.m.: A Walnut Street resident reported that his apartment had been broken into, and a Movado watch and some cash were taken. He told police he leaves near the front door and when he looked it was gone. He later found an LG tablet was also taken. Police are investigating.
March 10, 9 a.m.: The owner of a 2001 Dodge 1500 pickup found he vehicle had been stolen sometime the previous evening. He said he leaves a key in the car. Later that night, Police were contacted by Boston Police who said the pickup had been involved in a hit-and-run accident in which the driver fled the scene. Boston Police are investigating.
March 11, 5:45 p.m.: A NESN employee reported that someone broke into his vehicle and took a black gym bag containing a yellow Bruins sweatshirt, Beats headphones and an iPhone5. Police found the gym bag in a dumpster behind the Watertown Mall, but it was empty.
March 11, 8:45 p.m.: A man came into the 7-Eleven in Coolidge Square and tried to buy a hot dog and a Big Gulp. When employees said he did not have enough money, the man got angry, and began arguing. Employees asked him to leave, and the man reach across the counter and punched one employee. When the other employee escorted the man out of the store, the man punched that employee. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 17 or 18 years old, who had short dark hair. He was wearing a Red Sox hat and was clean shaven. Police are investigating.
March 13, 1:45 a.m.: An officer on patrol found a car in a lot at Filippello Park that had extensive damage. The rear window was smashed, two side mirrors were removed, the rear windshield wiper was missing, the turn signal handle was broken and there were multiple dents form what appeared to be kicking. The owner was located and said it was parked there about 8:30 p.m. on March 12. Police are investigating.
