The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
May 26 , 11:33 a.m.: Police received a call from a UPS employee about a suspicious situation with a package. The package was suspected to be involved in an incident in which an 85-year-old Florida woman had been scammed by someone saying her granddaughter needed to be bailed out of jail because she was involved in a drunk driving accident that killed a child. The woman’s granddaughter had not been arrested and heard her grandmother talking to the scammer, who had asked her to send $1,000 in cash to an address in Massachusetts. The package was one of 12 containing a total of $150,000 sent between May 6 to 25. She called UPS to stop delivery of the package. The package had arrived at the Watertown facility and it was kept there. UPS employees got suspicious when a man twice tried to pick up the package. The third time he attempted to get the package, UPS called Watertown Police. As officers approached the man they saw him on his phone speaking on Facetime with four other people, with one giving him instructions. After Police spoke with the suspect they believed he is involved in the scam. The man, Angel Figuereo, 22 of Boston, was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250 by false pretense. “It was really heads-up work by UPS to figure out what’s going on and calling police,” said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “And a really good example of teamwork between the Police Department and UPS security.” Watertown Police are working with Marion County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Department on the case.

Many crimes, few arrests.
I don’t call that crime-fighting.
Am I the only one who has noticed this?
May I ask what’s going on?
As for the man (Angel Figuereo) mentioned above for theft and arrested (good work by UPS and the police), let’s hear what has happened to him and let’s track his case. Is he free on bail? Let us know his past offenses, if any. OK?
Or maybe no one in Watertown cares. I can believe that. In fact, I’m pretty sure of that.
