The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
Feb. 4, 4:55 p.m.: A shoplifter from CVS ran from the store and was tracked down on Main Street. An employee saw the man take some items and place them in a bag before trying to leave without paying. When he was confronted by an employee the man gave back the items and left. The 46-year-old Waltham man was arrested on charges of shoplifting and on two warrants from Brockton District Court.
Feb. 6, 12:05 a.m.: An officer spotted a car on Boylston Street with no registration sticker and pulled the driver over. After speaking with the man police discover he had a warrant. The 23-year-old Watertown man was arrested on charges of improper registration, driving with a suspended license and a warrant from Dorchester District Court for failing to appear for jury duty.
Feb. 6, 5:15 p.m.: A man was spotted in Target taking three watches from the jewelry department, then went to the electronics department and cut the tags off a pair of Beats headphones worth $100. Store security stopped him and recovered the watches. The 38-year-old Boston man was arrested for shoplifting, and he was also wanted on two warrants – a fugitive from justice warrant from Lynn District Court and a probation violation from New Hampshire Superior Court.
Incidents
Feb. 2, 10:45 p.m.: A fight broke out between two employees of Gerry’s Italian Kitchen over who would be cleaning up after closing. The argument turned into a pushing match. There were no injuries.
Feb. 3, 8:30 p.m.: An Ashland Street resident returned home and found the rear door was ajar and a light was on in the living room that had not been left on. The resident called a friend to check to make sure no one was in the home. Nothing was taken from the home and detectives are investigating.
Feb. 4, 8 a.m.: Ten vehicles on Capitol Street and Morse Street were broken into overnight. All the vehicles had been left unlocked. Only two had items taken. An iPod and $50 in cash was missing from one car and $20 in cash was taken from another.
Feb. 4, 9:30 a.m.: Sometime overnight a large Fisher plow worth $6,000 was taken from a business on Grove Street.
Feb. 4, 12:45 p.m.: Target security recognized a suspect who had taken some items from the store the previous day. This day, the suspect took items and put them in a cart and took it out to her car. Security stopped the woman. The 68-year-old woman from Watertown was summonsed to Waltham District Court on two counts of shoplifting.
Feb. 4, 10:05 p.m.: An Arlington Street resident came home and found a front window open and several items gone: eight pairs of sunglasses, clothing, a North Face Jacket, and two pairs of shoes. The items were worth an estimated $2,500. Detectives are investigating.
Feb. 5, 12:30 p.m.: Someone poured water into the gast tanks of three plow trucks parked on Howard Street between Feb. 4 and 5.
Feb. 7, 6 p.m.: A Winter Street resident discovered a package that had been delivered by FedEx was missing. The box contained prescription medicine.
Feb. 7, 8:20 p.m.: Two women were walking down Main Street, and when they passed a man he grabbed them in the buttocks. They turned around and saw the suspect running toward Green Street and turned down that street. The suspect is described as a white male, age 30-40, 5-foot-8, wearing a black beanie hat, a grey shirt and black pants.
