The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
Jan. 25, 12:30 a.m.: Police received a report of a suspected drunk driver around heading east toward Cambridge on Mt. Auburn Street. An officer located the car and observed it breaking for no reason and weaving back and forth. The vehicle was pulled over and alcohol was detected on the driver’s breath. Field sobriety tests were performed and the driver admitted she was drinking. The 24-year-old woman from Leicester was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and marked lanes violation.
Jan. 26, 8:50 p.m.: An officer on Grove Street spotted a vehicle parked in a lot on Coolidge Avenue but the business was closed. The officer spoke with the occupants and found one had a warrant. The 26-year-old man from Watertown was arrested on the warrant for the warrant for possession of a Class E drug, possession of a Class B drug, possession of a Class C drug and driving under the influence of drugs.
Jan. 27, 7:36 p.m.: A shoplifter was stopped at Target after he walked into the store with several bags, and returned some items. He then went into the store and took a Garmin watch, and was seen cutting it out of its package and then he left without paying. He was stopped in the parking lot, and when security was speaking with him, another man came up to them and said the suspect had tried to sell him a bike for $100 but the suspect said it was worth $1,000. Police came and arrested the 45-year-old Waltham man on charges of shoplifting and receiving stolen property.
Jan. 31, 3:30 p.m.: A man was stopped by Target security after they saw him take a pair of jeans and try to leave without paying. When police searched them they found a Gear Fit watch, which police determined had been taken from Best Buy. The man also had two warrants. The 27-year-old homeless man was arrested for shoplifting, and a warrant from Boston District Court for possession of a Class E drug and another from Somerville District Court for larceny under $250.
Jan. 31, 9:20 p.m.: Two men seated in the bar area of the Mount Auburn Grille got into an argument and when one of the men got up to leave he swung his cane and struck the other man in the face. The suspect left before police arrived, but they were able to identify his car. They tracked him down on Waverley Avenue later that night. The 53-year-old Waltham man was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.
Incidents
Jan. 26, 5:15 p.m.: A woman was stopped at Target after being seen taking two cell phone cases and a swimsuit and put them in her purse. The 21-year-old woman from Jamaica Plain was summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
Jan. 27, 6:30 p.m.: A vehicle parked on Westminster Avenue was broken into between Jan. 13 and 14. The center console was rummaged through and lose change was taken.
