The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
Jan. 19, 6:14 p.m.: An officer pulled over a driver on Mt. Auburn Street and discovered she had a license suspended for an OUI. The 37-year-old Newton woman was arrested for driving with a license suspended for an OUI and was also cited for driving with a suspended license.
Jan. 21, 1:39 p.m.: Police responded to a disturbance on Linden Street and after investigating the officers discovered one of the men had a warrant. A 21-year-old man from Fitchburg was arrested for the warrant out of Fitchburg District Court.
Jan. 21, 4:30 p.m.: A woman was spotted in Target taking clothing and other items and placing them in a canvas bag and walked out of the mall entrance without paying. She was stopped and security found she had $244.57 in merchandise. The 41-year-old Waltham woman was arrested on a charge of shoplifting over $100.
Jan. 22, 4:49 p.m.: Target security spotted a woman filling a cart with bedding and household items and walk past the registers and out the doors without paying. She had $655.87 worth of items. The 28-year-old Waltham woman was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.
Incidents
Jan. 19, 4:07 p.m.: Police received a report of a damaged headstone at the Old Village Cemetery, located at the corner of Common and Mt. Auburn streets. A 1-foot-by-1-foot crypt door had a large crack in it. After investigating, it appears that the damage was due to the age of the stone and deterioration. Police notified the Department of Public Works, which will repair it.
Jan. 19, 8:11 p.m.: An apartment on School Street was broken into while damage from a recent water main break was being repaired. The damage was in the basement and while repairs were being done and someone removed some pieces of wood and entered an apartment. The resident discovered some jewelry and cash was missing from her bedroom.
Jan. 21, 1:50 p.m.: A car left in the municipal Parking Lot off Spring Street had its rear window shattered. The owner found a rock of the type used in road construction on the back dash. It is not clear how it happened.
Jan. 21, 5:40 p.m.: A shoplifter was stopped at the Stop & Shop on Watertown Street. She put several meat and seafood items (worth $241) in a bag and they concealed them and tried to leave without paying. The 53-year-old Cambridge woman was summonsed to Waltham District Court on a charge of shoplifting over $100, her fourth offense.
Jan. 23, 2:30 p.m.: A vehicle was broken into on Buick Street and a black Garmin GPS unit was taken along with some loose change. The vehicle was left unlocked.
Jan. 23, 3:40 p.m.: Security at Target stopped a woman after she was seen walking through the store and concealing items in her jacket. She was stopped and admitted to taking the items. The 58-year-old Auburndale woman was summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
