A new national sandwich shop will be opening its doors soon in Watertown Square.
Jimmy John’s will take over one of the spots in the shopping plaza where Staples used to be, at 11 Mt. Auburn St. (at the Watertown Square intersection).
Jimmy John Liautaud opened his first restaurant in a converted garage in Charleston, Ill., in 1983 when he was just 19 years old. Now, the company has more than 2,400 locations in 43 states. Jimmy John’s has several locations in Massachusetts – including Waltham and Brighton – and the Watertown location is expected to open in April, said Nathan Louer, a company spokesperson for Jimmy John’s.
Jimmy John’s focuses on sandwiches, and known for fresh ingredients and friendly service, Louer said.
“From the freshly baked bread and sliced veggies and meats, we give you a great product in an energetic atmosphere and do it with a smile,” Louer said. “If you can’t get out of the home or office give us a call, if you are within our delivery area we will deliver as little as one sub right to your doorstep. Our combination of in-shop speed and service is what sets us apart.”
