The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
Dec. 28, 1 p.m.: A man in Target took several bottles of vitamins and some other items and exchanged them for a refund of $477.09. When he was detained, police discovered that he had several warrants. The 47-year-old Cambridge man was arrested on charges of larceny over $250, warrants from Dudley and Worcester District Courts and two fugitive warrants out of the state of Georgia.
Dec. 28, 1:27 p.m.: A disturbance was reported on Grenville Road and a man was put into protective custody. Police discovered the 39-year-old Watertown man had a probation warrant out in his name, so they arrested him.
Dec. 29, 6:54 p.m.: A man was spotted taking baby formula in Target and when store security tried to restrain him, he began resisting. He elbowed one of the guards in the mouth and gave him a minor injury on his lip. The man had $160.18 worth of merchandise. The 36-year-old Mattapan man was arrested for shoplifting and assault and battery.
Dec. 30, 2:45 p.m.: A man took items and placed them in a plastic bag at Target and put them in a plastic bag. Security recognized the man from a previous incident where he took two vacuum cleaners. When he was detained, security found he had a folding knife, a box cutter and a razor blade. The man 50-year-old Allston man was arrested on two counts of larceny over $250 and vandalism.
Dec. 30, 6:49 p.m.: A man came to the Police Station to talk to a police office. When no one was immediately available he became impatient and began continually pressing the buzzer button. After doing that several times he was told to wait. The man left and went home, where he began calling the police business line and 911 repeatedly. An officer was sent to his home on Evans Street and the 21-year-old Watertown man was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Dec. 31, 1:55 p.m.: Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Waverley Avenue. When they talked to one driver, they detected an odor of alcohol on the man’s breath so they performed field sobriety tests. The 25-year-old Belmont man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Incidents
Dec. 29, 8:09 a.m.: A vehicle parked on Philip Darch Road was broken into overnight, and rummaged through. Change was taken from the vehicle’s middle console.
Dec. 29, 12:14 p.m.: A car parked in the driveway of a Rutland Road home had its driver side window broken and a wrapped present was taken from the back seat. The incident occurred sometime since Dec. 23.
Dec. 29, 12:55 p.m.: A brick from the front lawn of a Grandview Avenue home was used to break a window of a car parked in the driveway. A green bag was taken which contained a Mac computer.
Dec. 29, 2:56 p.m.: A woman reported that her wallet was stolen while she was shopping at Stop & Shop on Watertown Street. A security video shows and unidentified woman put a black cloth over the cart and take something out of the cart. The wallet contained cash, credit cards and a drivers license.
Dec. 30, 8:03 a.m.: An employee of the Watertown Mall discovered a door on the rear of the building was damaged. It appears someone tried to pry open the door.
Dec. 30, 8:30 p.m.: A Chester Street resident said he left his car locked and when he came back out his driver side door and his rear driver side door were ajar. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was missing.
Dec. 31, 12:04 p.m.: A man reported his son’s bicycle was taken from under his front porch sometime since Dec. 29. It was a 22-inch red, white and black Novara bicycle.
Jan. 2, 2:12 p.m.: A Knowles Road resident said he is having problem with his new girlfriend’s estranged husband, and he suspects the husband egged his front door with a dozen eggs.
Jan. 3, 5:37 p.m.: A woman was playing with her child on a kids ride at the Arsenal Mall and later realized that she forgot her purse. It was turned into the lost and found at the mall, but cash was missing from the purse.
Jan. 3, 6:32 p.m.: A bicycle was reported missing. A Hawthorne Street resident said her daughter left a bicycle in the parking lot of the Philips School leaning against a bush. It was unlocked and is described as a 1990 white road bike.
