Police Log: Three OUI Arrests Made, Prescription Pads Stolen from Office

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.

Arrests

Dec. 16, 11:26 p.m.: Police received a report of a car leaving the scene of an accident on Orchard Street and was driving erratically. A witness saw a red Honda with damage weaving around, and it may have hit a fire hydrant. The car pulled into a driveway on Warren Street. Police found the driver and detected an odor of alcohol on her breath. Field sobriety tests were performed and the 35-year-old Watertown woman was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, a second offense, and leaving the scene of property damage.

Dec. 19, 5:26 p.m.: An officer spotted a car run a red light in Watertown Square. The officer pulled over the driver and found his license had been suspended for 20 years. The 43-year-old Stoughton man was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license, a subsequent offense, and failing to stop.

Dec. 20, 3:17 a.m.: An officer patrolling near the Home Depot spotted a vehicle traveling at 50 mph on Arsenal Street. The vehicle was also drifting into the other lane. When the officer put on his lights the vehicle pulled over abruptly and struck a curb and punctured the tire. An odor of alcohol was detected on the driver’s breath and field sobriety tests were given. The 21-year-old Melrose man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding.

Dec. 20, 5:46 p.m.: A witness saw a woman stumbling as she walked in the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot and then got into a vehicle and drive away. The witness called police. The vehicle was located on Main Street and an odor of alcohol was detected on the driver’s breath. Field sobriety tests were performed and the 42-year-old Fairhaven woman was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, a third offense.

Incidents

Dec. 14, 8:39 a.m.: The director at Till Rehabilitation Center on Arlington Street discovered someone had broken into his office and a nurse’s office. A file cabinet had been pried open and credit cards were missing. Also, a prescription pad was missing. There were no signs of forced entry to the building, only inside.

Dec. 14, 4:05 p.m.: A teen was seen taking a pair of sweatpants at Foot Locker, roll them up and hide them between his back and backpack. He was stopped after he left the store. The sweatpants were returned and no charges were made against the 17-year-old boy from Boston.

Dec. 16, 12:22 p.m.: A car parked on Pilgrim Road was broken into and rummaged through. Two pairs of eye glasses and a jacket were taken.

Dec. 16, 2:24 p.m.: A group of four people were seen acting suspiciously in the Target and two young men were seen taking cell phone cases and put them in their pockets. Police located them at the Tobacco Shed in the Watertown Mall. Police trespassed an 18-year-old Brookline man and an 18-year-old Boston man.

Dec. 18, 1:22 p.m.: A shoplifter had been stopped at Target after she was seen putting items in a carriage and pay for some but leave without paying for items worth $215.93. The 29-year-old woman from Dorchester was summonsed to Waltham District Court on a charge of shoplifting over $100.

Dec. 18, 4:47 p.m.: A man came out of the Arsenal Project and was approached by another man who said someone had been keying the first man’s car. Police are investigating.

Dec. 18, 6:23 p.m.: A section of fence was broken at a home on Elm Street. The cause is unknown.
