The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrest
Sept. 11, 2:40 p.m.: Target security spotted a woman in the store who they knew had a trespassing order, and was not allowed in Target. The order had been issued on Aug. 21. She was stopped and when police arrived their investigation revealed she had four warrants for her arrest. The 51-year-old woman from Boston was arrested for trespassing, as well as the warrants out of Boston District Court: two for trespassing; one for assault with a dangerous weapon and shoplifting; and one for assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and trespassing.
Incidents
Sept. 7, 10:51 a.m.: A man reported that his pickup was struck by another vehicle on Pleasant Street near Bridge Street. A small black sedan sideswiped the Chevy pickup, and the driver who hit the truck continued down Pleasant Street. The driver was seen pulling into a parking lot on Rosedale Road near Pleasant Street. The truck also pulled in, and the driver of the pickup said that said when the drivers exited their vehicles the driver of the sedan threw several punches at him, but missed. Then he slammed the door of the pickup and did some additional damage. The man got in the sedan and left. Police found surveillance cameras footage which showed two men exchanging words about 15 feet from each other. The driver of the sedan is described as a Hispanic male, around 20 years old with dark hair and a muscular build.
Sept. 7, 2:39 p.m.: A political sign was taken from the yard of a home on Landon Avenue. The Joe Biden sign was put in there at about 8 a.m. that morning and the resident came out at 2:30 p.m. and found that the sign was gone. It was valued at $20.
Sept. 9, 5:46 p.m.: A Forest Street resident reported that an Amazon package had gone missing. He got a confirmation that the package had arrived at 8 a.m., but when he went out to look for it at 8:15 p.m. it was gone. The box contained four jars of Maille mustard worth $17.08.
Sept. 10, 10:37 a.m.: An emergency call box in the parking garage at Arsenal Yards was damaged. The facility manager said security employees found the call box on the fifth floor of the garage, and it appeared to have been intentionally burned. The value was between $200-$250.
Sept. 12, 2:12 a.m.: Officers patrolling in Arenal Park spotted what appeared to be new graffiti on the skateboard ramp. Someone had spray painted in white letters multiple phrases and symbols including: one of the quotes was “Love Pigs Hate Cops,” “ACAB,” and an “A” with a circle around it. The Department of Public Works was alerted to the graffiti and removed it.
Sept. 12, 6:58 a.m.: An Edward Road resident reported that his motorized dirt bike had been stolen. The bike had been locked in a shed in the backyard, but the locking mechanism had been cut. The shed also contained two other dirt bikes and a bicycle, but none of those were taken. The missing one is a smaller red and white bike valued at $4,200.
Sept. 13, 4:08 a.m.: An altercation broke out at a gathering at a home on Spring Street. The two men involved had a mutual friend at the event. The man who reported the incident said the other guy had provoked him through the night by intentionally bumping into him and brushing his shoulder for no apparent reason. Then, the reporting man said, the second man hit him in the face, causing a minor injury to his lip. The other man left before officers arrived, but police were able to contact him. He said that the man who reported the incident assaulted him first and hit him in the nose. Then he left the gathering, and later spoke with the first man. He said they worked things out, so neither wanted to pursue charges. Police told both that they could seek a complaint in Waltham District Court if they wish.
