The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrest
April 3, 7:06 p.m.: An officer spotted someone known to be wanted on a a warrant in the area of Mt. Auburn Street and Templeton Parkway. The man was wanted by Boston Police for an armed robbery. The man was stopped and arrested. The 23-year-old Waltham man, Thales Quieroz, was arrested on the warrant out of Brighton District Court for armed robbery while masked. He was turned over to the Boston Police Department.
Incidents
April 1, 1:56 p.m. A Summit Road home was broken into. The home owner told police that someone entered her house between March 29 and April 1. She found some items in the kitchen that were displaced and discovered a window in the kitchen was unlocked and the screen was removed. A jewelry box went missing that contained two small gold chains with pendants on them, each worth about $200. Police do not believe the incident is related to the other recent break-ins.
April 2, 12:16 a.m.: An Emerson Road heard three loud bangs on the front of her house, and went out to see that her house had been egged. The resident believes that the people who did it were on foot, because she did not hear a vehicle in the area.
April 3, 12:30 p.m.: A Watertown resident responded to a Craigslist post about leasing an apartment. The man sent the person who put up the post $2,000 using Zelle app. He found out the money had been taken from his account and transferred to another account and then realized that the email account he sent the money to had been immediately shut down. Police are working with his bank to investigate the incident.
April 3, 4:21 p.m.: A man reported to police that he had responded to a Craigslist ad about renting an apartment in Cambridge. He sent a payment of $1,710 by wire transfer. After he sent the money he had no more contract with the person who posted the ad. Police said it looks like he will be reimbursed the money from his bank.
April 4, 1:20 p.m.: Police spoke to a Bancroft Street resident who reported the back window of the vehicle had been shattered while it was parked in the driveway. He parked the car at 11 a.m. and at about 1:10 p.m. he observed the damage. The damage cost about $500. Police checked the neighborhood but did not see similar damages to cars. The resident said that it could have been weather related because there were high winds, but thee was no branch near the 2010 Nissan.
