The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Log.
Arrests
Feb. 10, 6:02 a.m.: Police served a warrant on Royal Street. They located 27-year-old Watertown woman and arrested her on the warrant from Waltham District Court for a probation violation.
Feb. 10, 10:28 a.m.: A minor motor vehicle accident occurred on Galen Street at Maple Street. When police spoke to those involved they found that one fo the drivers had an outstanding warrant. The 26-year-old South Boston woman was arrested on the warrant from Newton District Court for failure to appear in court.
Feb. 13, 1:07 a.m.: An officer patrolling near Harrington Street at Belmont Street saw a driver going an estimated 45 mph in a 30 zone. The driver was stopped and police found the driver did not have a license, and was wanted on a warrant. The 36-year-old Everett man was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended driver’s license and for the warrant from Quincy District Court for failure to appear in court. He was also cited for speeding.
Feb. 13, 6:28 p.m.: A vehicle ran a red light in Watertown Square and was stopped by police. Officers found the driver was wanted on a warrant. The 28-year-old Boston man was arrested on the warrant from Waltham District Court for driving with a suspended registration and a red light violation. He was also issued a citation for running a red light.
Feb. 15, 3:30 a.m.: A driver was seen asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle in the roadway. Police located the vehicle on Church Street near the Municipal Parking lot in Watertown Square and saw the driver slumped behind the wheel. When police got his attention the driver appeared confused and had trouble understanding the officer. The man had an odor of alcohol on his breath and admitted to drinking before driving. The 23-year-old Lowell man failed five field sobriety tests and was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police made one arrest on domestic charges. The Watertown Police Department does not release the names of those invovled with, nor the details of, domestic incidents.
Incidents
Feb. 11, 7:08 p.m.: A man who recently purchased a two-family home on Westminster Avenue arrived to find the doors leading from the front porch into both units were left ajar. He contacted police. Nothing appeared to be missing, and there were no signs of forced entry. Several construction crews had been working on the property and it is possible one of them forgot to close the doors.
Feb. 12, 11:01 a.m.: A resident of the 700 block of Mt. Auburn Street heard an alert from his Ring doorbell at 10:44 a.m. When he got up to check a short time later he saw someone walking across the street carrying a package. The footage from the doorbell showed a person walk in to the porch and take the package, which contained a pendant light fixture worth $100. The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a baseball hat, a hooded sweatshirt a black jacket, jeans and grey and white sneakers.
Feb. 12, 4:51 p.m.: A man came into Coolidge Liquors on Mt. Auburn Street and grabbed a bottle of pineapple vodka and left the store without paying. An employee called police, who searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him. The suspect is described as a white male, 5-foot-7, with a beard who wore a black jacket and grey sweatpants. The vodka was priced at $34.99.
Feb. 13, 8:24 p.m.: A Nichols Avenue resident discovered someone broke into her vehicle while it was parked on the street in front of her home. She told police that on Feb. 4 she discovered her wallet had been taken from the Honda CR-V. The wallet contained $250 in cash, two credit cards and four checks made out to her. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
Feb. 15, 9:56 a.m.: The owner of a barbershop on Mt. Auburn Street found that the rear door had been damaged. He reported that on Feb. 6, he found that someone either tried to break into the business or intentionally damaged the door.
Feb. 16, 10:06 a.m.: A Brimmer Street resident went out to his vehicle and and realized someone had been int the vehicle sometime overnight. Nothing was missing. A guest staying at the residence saw a man walking in the driveway at about 3:20 a.m. that morning and the was questioned about why he was there. The man said he was looking for someone. Security footage showed a white male wearing red camouflage pants, a black jacket a red shirt and a dark colored winter hat. He approached the vehicle and also tried the front door, but it was locked.
