Start your Independence Day celebrations on July 3 when the Waltham American Legion Band performs during the Watertown Summer Concert Series.
The band formed in 1948 has performed across the United States, and overseas. The Waltham American Legion Band was the first American Band to play in Russia, where it performed “God Bless America” in Red Square.
Today the band consists of about fifty members both veterans and civilians ranging in age from teens to nineties hailing from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
The concert begins Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Saltonstall Park (next to Town Hall).
The Watertown Summer Concert Series is sponsored by the Town of Watertown, the Local Cultural Council, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and Taylor Rental / Party Plus.
