Members of the Watertown High School track teams collected first, second and third place finishes at the MIAA Div. 4 East Outdoor Championships in Norwell on Sunday.
Mange Camara added a Divisional championship in the 400 meters to titles in the 55 and 300 he earned at the indoor meet in February.
The senior ran the 400 in 48.39 seconds, more than a second faster than the second place finisher.
Later, Camara was part of the first place 4 x 100 relay from Watertown. He was joined by junior Karim Monroe, freshman Mason Andrade and senior Nathan Follett. The team finished the race in 44.19 seconds.
Follett also placed highly in an individual event. He took second place in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.96.
Senior high jumper Abbi Peterson tied for third place in her event at the Div. 4 meet. She cleared a height of 5-feet-two-inches. In the indoor season she placed second at the Div. 5 meet.
Camara, Follett, Peterson and the boys 4 x 100 relay qualified for next Saturday’s All-State Meet in Westfield.
Watertown junior Kai Landry took fifth place in the boys pentathlon. He scored a total of 2,542 points in the five-event competition, including winning the 1500 meters in 4:36.31.
Junior sprinter Rose Mulgrew ran the 100 and 200 at the Divisional meet. She ran the a 13 seconds flat in the preliminary heat of the 100, and improved to 12.97 in the final to take seventh place. In the 200, Mulgrew ran a 27.32 and placed 12th.
The Watertown boys finished eighth place in the team competition with 32 points. Triton took first with 60 points. The Raiders finished 29th in the girls team competition with 7.5 points. The winner was Amesbury with 70.5 points.
Other Raiders who competed in the Div. 4 meet include: junior Hassan Hougazy (18th in the 400, 54.64 seconds), senior Jack Barry (22nd in the 800, 2:09.07), senior Ava Grillo (28 in the 400 hurdles, 1:20.82), the girls 4 x 400 relay – Grillo, freshman Audrey Garland, junior Ashley Shaughnessy and junior Lakshmi Thangaraj (12th, 4:48.59), and the girls 4 x 100 relay – freshman Victory Pires, sophomore Allison Fitzpatrick, Mulgrew and Peterson (18th, 54.37 seconds).
