Two Watertown High School students showed they are among the top track and field athletes in region with top five finishes at the New England Indoor Championships, including a first place finish.

Camara took first place in the 300 meters, with a time of 34.47 — which was 0.4 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. The sprinter added the New England Championship to his wins at the MIAA All-State Meet and the Div. 5 Meet. He remains undefeated in the 300 meters this season.
In the 55 meters, Camara took sixth place at New Englands. He earned a spot in the final by running 6.57 seconds in the preliminary heats. In the final he went even faster — 6.52 — which was sixth best.
Peterson took fifth place in the high jump competition at New Englands. She jumped a personal best 5-feet-5-inches, and set a new school record.
Last week, Peterson finished fifth at the All-State Meet with a jump of 5-feet-4, and the week before she took second in the Div. 5 Meet.
