Watertown track star Mange Camara got his senior season off to a good start by running one of the top times in Massachusetts high school history in the 300 meters.
Camara ran the 300 meter sprint in 34.44 seconds at the MSTCA Indoor Speed Classic at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston on Dec. 23.
The time also sets a new WHS record, which Camara also held. He bettered his best time by .33 seconds.

The Watertown High School girls basketball team claimed the title of the Somerville Hoop Fest holiday tournament with a 41-14 win over Salem.
Freshman Ellie Monahan scored 18 points in the victory over Salem on Friday, Dec. 28.
The Raiders also defeated Charlestown 50-19 in the first round on Dec. 27.
Monahan was named the tournament MVP and freshman Taylor Lambo also made the All-Tournament team.
The Raiders improved their record to 5-3.
WHS Teams Notch Wins
The Raiders boys hockey team finished 2018 by defeating Latin Academy 2-0 on Dec. 27 in the holiday tournament at South Boston’s Murphy Rink. Watertown’s Keith Ricci scored on a pass from Raffi Lachinian, and Jack Dickie found the net with an assist from Nicholas Dipace. On Dec. 26, the Raiders fell 4-1 to Lynnfield. On Dec. 19, the Raiders beat Saugus 2-1 behind two tallies from Mason Andrade. The team is now 3-3.
Watertown’s wrestling team posted a dual meet win over Maimonides on Dec. 19, and followed it up with victories over Randolph and Waltham in a tournament in Waltham on Dec. 22.
The Watertown/Arlington co-op boys swim team defeated Burlington 91-74 on Dec. 21.
