The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
Nov. 12, 2:06 a.m.: An officer spotted a woman on Philip Darch Road known to be wanted on an arrest warrant. The 36-year-old Watertown woman was arrested on the warrant from Concord District Court for traffic offenses.
Nov. 16, 8:15 a.m.: Police assisted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) with execution of a federal arrest warrant in Watertown. The suspect was taken into custody and taken to the Federal Courthouse in Boston. The 65-year-old Watertown man was arrested on the warrant for being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.
Nov. 17, 2:03 p.m.: A woman was seen putting merchandise in bags as well as under blankets in a stroller while in Target. The woman attempted to leaving without paying, but was stopped by security. They recovered a total of $712.35 in items, including two Amazon tablets and an HP laptop. She also removed theft prevention devices from three of the items. Police responded and found that the woman had three outstanding warrants. The 29-year-old Brighton woman was arrested for shoplifting, unlawful deactivation of theft detection devices and three warrants: one from Roxbury District Court for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, one from Dorchester District Court for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and one from Quincy District Court for larceny from a person.
Nov. 18, 2:03 p.m.: A vehicle stopped on Arsenal Street sat through an entire light cycle without moving. Police turned on the lights on their cars and approached the vehicle. When they got to the vehicle, officers saw a woman asleep behind the wheel. She would not wake up when they shined a flash light into the vehicle and knocked on the window. Eventually she woke up and began to yell. Then she drove off and one of the officers had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the vehicle. She was stopped by a police car coming the opposite direction on Arsenal Street. The woman showed signs of being intoxicated, and had a strong odor of alcohol. She said she drank alcohol before driving. The woman failed field sobriety tests. The 33-year-old Watertown woman was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation.
Incidents
Nov. 12, 12:08 p.m.: A worker at a construction project on Howard Street reported that someone had stolen some of his tools. He left the tools in an empty room inside the construction site on Nov. 9 and returned on the 12th to find they were gone. The tools were worth $430.
Nov. 12, 7:14 p.m.: A customer at Launch Trampoline Park realized his iPhone was missing. He had left it on the registration table, and when he went back to ask employees about it they could not locate the white iPhone 6 in a black case. They looked at security footage and identified a group that may have taken the phone. The man confronted the people who were sitting at a table in Launch. They denied taking the phone and an argument ensued. Police were called and talked to the group. An employee told police that one of the people in the group had entered the women’s bathroom when they arrived. Officers went into the bathroom and found a black iPhone case, but no phone. Police summonsed a 33-year-old Hyde Park woman to Waltham District Court on a charge of larceny under $1,200. The phone was not recovered.
Nov. 13, 4:23 p.m.: An elderly woman reported that she had been been the victim of a phone scam. She has received numerous phone calls from someone that said that she had won the North Carolina Lottery during the prior month. She was asked to send money. She wrote two separate checks for a total of $45,000. She did not receive and money and when she told police, they confirmed that the checks had been cashed, one in Kentucky and one in Raleigh, N.C. Detectives are investigating.
Nov. 16, 8:07 p.m.: Two acquaintances ran into each other in a business on Mt. Auburn Street. The two Watertown men, one 58 years old and the other 38 years old, began arguing over issues they had with each other. It got heated and they began pushing each other and police were called. Officers told the men they could seek criminal complaints of assault and battery at Waltham District Court.
Nov. 17, 10:41 p.m.: Residents of Adams Avenue reported that someone had entered their home while they were out. Some of the rooms in the house had been disturbed, and they believe some items had been taken. The home was locked when the residents left. Police were called, and the owners are putting together a list of missing items. While officers were at the home, a report of a second break in was reported. This one was on nearby Richards Road. At 12:15 a.m. on Nov. 18, residents came home to find the door ajar and the interior of their home had been disturbed. Officers are working with the residents to determine what was taken, and police are investigating. Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area should call Watertown Police at 617-972-6500.
