The Watertown High School football team put together back-to-back wins for the first time this season on when the Raiders defeated Boston Latin 17-14. Watertown will seek to extend its winning streak when it returns to Victory Field on Friday.
The Raiders traveled to White Stadium in Boston on Friday to face the Wolfpack in a non-playoff, non-league game. With two touchdowns by junior running back Karim Monroe, plus a field goal and two extra points by Adam Haloui, the Raiders staked a 17-0 third quarter lead.
Boston Latin (0-9) rallied for two touchdowns, but the Raiders held on for the three point victory.
Watertown improved to 3-6, and have won two straight after beating Lynnfield the week before. This week, the Raiders return home to face Newburyport on Friday at 7 p.m. This will be Watertown’s last game before the Thanksgiving clash at Belmont.
The 5-4 Clippers made the MIAA Div. 5 playoffs, but fell to Pentucket 10-6 in the first round. On Friday they defeated Weston 3-0 in a battle of teams eliminated from the tourney.
