Come and enjoy an exciting interactive demonstration of fluid alcohol inks with Liz Filipancic at the Watertown Art Association meeting, Saturday, Oct. 6, 2-4 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 9 Russell Ave., Watertown.
“Liz’s art is so bright and evocative – it just makes you happy,” said Paula Simpson, owner of Carry Out Cafe & Catering in Newburyport where Liz has shown her art and jewelry in a solo exhibition. “Viewers can use their imagination, seeing different elements in the pops of color that flow throughout her work.”
Liz started painting later in life, and discovered a technique that really energizes her creativity – fluid alcohol inks on a synthetic paper called Yupo.
“The unpredictable reactions of the inks and their flow are inspiring. The paints work for me, rather than me working the paints,” she says of the vibrant inks.
Participants will have an opportunity to try using the inks and Yupo surface in this interactive event. Free and open to the public. Please bring a friend to enjoy the demo! New members are always welcome.
