Alice M. (Herlihy) Walker of Duxbury, passed in her home surrounded by her family on July 7, 2018 after a battle with cancer, at age 77.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, David Raymond Walker. Alice was the second of 6 children of John Joseph Herlihy & Evangeline McMichael Herlihy. She was the mischievous one of the bunch, yet she was also the person who would drop everything to help anyone in need.
Raised in Newton & Watertown. A 1958 graduate of Watertown High School and later attended Burdett Secretarial School. Crowned the First Miss Watertown in 1957. Alice had wanted to be a wife and mother more than anything. She married David Walker, her high school sweetheart, together they had 4 children.
Devoted mother to Cheryl Salmon and her husband Stephen of Napa, Calif., Michael Walker and his wife Susan of Duxbury, David Walker and his wife Amanda of Hingham, and Kathleen Becker and her husband Richard of Duxbury. Cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren: Lauren Orrick, Colleen & Ryan Salmon all of Napa. Emily, Garrett, Sara & Trent Walker of Duxbury. Alexandra, Brady & Henry Walker of Hingham. Katelyn & Andrew Thomas and Nora Becker of Duxbury.
Survived by her siblings Joan (Herlihy) Kilcoyne of Wayland, Mary (Herlihy) Russo of Watertown, Linda (Herlihy) Placidi of Norfolk, John Herlihy of Waltham and David Herlihy of Newton, and many nieces and nephews.
Alice had a terrific sense of humor; her laugh was recognizable and contagious. The Walker household was always the place to be!

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. to the Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury for an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. Burial will be in Duxbury Cemetery.

We are so sorry to hear that Alice has passed. She has been such a great friend to not only Sandy and me, but anyone who has met her in Naples Heritage community. Our prayers go out to you Dave and your family.
