Watertown High School senior John Korte collected another accolade on Sunday when he was named the North Boys Basketball Player of the Year by the Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association.
The MBCA players of the year are named in each section (North, South, Central and West) for both boys and girls. The honorees are selected from players from all divisions. Watertown competes in MIAA’s Div. 3.
Korte already had a successful year after leading the Raiders to their third State Championship in March. He also received All-Scholastic honors from both the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald, and was named the Middlesex League Freedom Division Most Valuable Player.
The recent WHS grad will spend a post-graduation year playing basketball and studying at Woodstock Academy. He ended his WHS career with 1,337 points and averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds a game.
Woodstock academy is where john is pg. Thank you
