Today Representative Geoff Diehl, the endorsed Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, announced that Watertown resident Samuel Ford will be interning for his
campaign.
“I am happy to have Sam as an intern and I believe he will be a great asset to the campaign. Sam is one of the many young interns on the team and I believe their energy and passion will help contribute to an election day victory,” said Diehl.
Regarding his new internship with the campaign Ford said, “I am honored to be a part of the Diehl campaign team and I look forward to helping him succeed. This will be a great learning opportunity and I hope to gain valuable experience.”
Ford is currently a history major completing his junior year at UMass Amherst. He has lived in Watertown his entire life and has played an active role in the community. As part of the campaign, Ford will be involved with events, date entry, canvassing, and other responsibilities that are essential to grassroots movements like Diehl’s.
In his time as a state legislator, Diehl has worked hard to keep money in the pockets of citizens and to hold bureaucrats on Beacon Hill to the highest of standards. In 2014, Diehl led the successful grassroots campaign to repeal of automatic gas tax hikes — saving Massachusetts residents $2 billion. Now Diehl is running for U.S. Senate with hopes of replacing Elizabeth Warren. With his Massachusetts First platform and grassroots support, Diehl is confident that his campaign will be successful. He recently won the convention by a 30 point margin.
