The Arsenal Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the appointment of Watertown native Roberta Miller to its Interim Executive Director Position, according to the announcement from the center.
Miller served as a founding board member and co-chair of the six million dollar capital campaign that established the Arsenal Center for the Arts, and was former board President of the Watertown Community Foundation.
“Roberta has proven over and over her commitment to the welfare of our community, and she’s done it once again by stepping into the leadership role at the Arsenal Center for the Arts while we conduct our search for the next Executive Director” says Susan Centofanti, Arsenal Center Board President.
Roberta Miller was recently honored by the Arsenal Center with the Charles Mosesian Award for her longstanding commitment to Watertown and the Arsenal Center for the Arts. As a former elected Town Councilor, her expertise in organizational development led to her public appointment to the redevelopment authority, which transformed the former U.S. Army superfund site to a commercial and public resource for Watertown and Greater Boston. Before rejoining the Arsenal Center for the Arts, Miller’s work focused on supporting early stage start up companies, and fostering local initiatives and innovation strategies at The Arsenal Project.
“Her knowledge of the community, organizational skills and experience spearheading past development efforts ensure that there will be a seamless transition as the Arsenal Center enters its second decade as a leader in arts programming and education” said Ms. Centofanti.
Miller will hold regular office hours at the center as the Board of Directors conducts their search for a permanent appointment to the Executive Director Position.
