
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
March 20: Someone entered the lobby of an office on Main Street and took two laptops — a MacBook and a Dell — each of which was valued at $500.
March 20: A person went into Best Buy to buy a 65-inch TV that cost $2,300. The transaction was not complete but the person loaded the TV into a Subaru Forester and drove away. Police are investigating.
March 20: A woman was caught shoplifting at Marshalls. The suspect removed an anti-theft device from an item and took $298 worth of merchandise. Jodi Collins, 50, of Boston, was arrested for shoplifting, unlawful deactivation of a theft detection device. She also had a warrant from Cambridge District Court for failing to appear in court on charges of assault and battery, and shoplifting.
March 20: Three people entered Ulta and took $1,300 worth of merchandise.
March 20: A resident reported a case of fraud. On March 19, the resident received a notice of credit card charges that the person did not recognize. The resident believes someone went through his wallet while he was working out at Planet Fitness in Cambridge because it was in a different location when he returned. Police are investigating.
March 21: A shoplifter took $175 in items from Ulta.
March 22: A child’s bicycle was taken from Sparkill Street. The 20-inch bike with a white basket on the front, and training wheels, is valued at $500. It was last seen on March 2.
March 22: A Belmont Street resident saw a man pulling on the door handle of a car parked in a lot adjacent to the building. The person did not gain entry, and left the area.
March 22: A woman took $208 worth of merchandise from the CVS on Mt. Auburn Street.
March 22: Police responded to a report of a disturbance at Chip City in Arsenal Yards. An employee told police he had been given a hard time by a group of older teenage boys. The employee reportedly shoved one of the teens. After investigating, no charges were brought.
March 22: A man went into Ulta and took women’s colognes on two occasions valued at $995.
March 22: A resident applied for a loan from Lending Tree and provided a Social Security Number, date of birth, and a photo ID. The resident got a message saying that he had to buy $800 worth of stock. He sent $840 through CashApp.
March 23: Target security spotted a man shoplifting. He had $440 worth of items. Lucas Kerman, 25, of Boston, was arrested for shoplifting.
March 24: A Spruce Street resident got a message from a debt collector trying to get payment for a $273 bill from Verizon. Someone had opened an account in the resident’s name.
March 24: A resident received an order confirmation for a purchase that the person did not make. The $1,500 charge was to On Running, and the delivery address is in Beaverton, Oregon.
March 25: A woman concealed multiple items in a reusable shopping bag and left Ulta without paying. The suspect stole 19 items valued at $2,282.
March 25: Target reported a woman who was seen walking through the self-checkout and scanning a pair of reading glasses, but not the rest of the items in her cart. The stolen items were worth $212.
March 25: A woman was stopped at Target after taking $117 worth of clothing and beauty products. She also had an outstanding warrant. Catherine Cohen, 42, of Cambridge, was arrested for shoplifting, and the warrant from Boston District Court for larceny and possession of burglarious tools.
March 26: A man parked a car in front of his Laurel Street home on March 25, and when he went out later he found the left front tire was flat. He took the vehicle in to have the tire repaired and it was discovered a second tire was flat. The man told police he suspects he was targeted because he has a Trump sticker on the vehicle and a Trump flag on his home. The repairs cost $800.
March 26: Police went to Best Buy for a suspicious man and when speaking with him they discovered he had a warrant. Stephen Kane, 47, of Watertown, was arrested on the warrant from Cambridge District Court for daytime breaking and entering for a felony.
March 27: A woman who took $183 worth of items from Target was stopped and detained. She also had an outstanding warrant. Sarah Magliozzi, 27 of Cambridge, was arrested for shoplifting and the warrant from Cambridge District Court for shoplifting.
March 27: A Quad Lock phone mount was taken off a motorcycle that was parked in the Purple Garage at Arsenal Yards. It is valued at $90.
It looks like Ulta retained the same risk management consultants as Best Buy, Nike, etc. did.
Might as well give its employees T-shirts with bulls-eyes on them. Oh, wait, Target did that already.
As to the Trump supporter. Replace the stickers with Harris-Walz – or Warren, or Markey, and you will never be vandalized again in MA. Same goes for the flag, go with colorful Pride. Problem solved.
P.S. Ignore my prior comments about stickers and vandalism if you drive a Tesla. It’s open season on you, regardless.
