  1. A pity Sen. Brownsberger didn’t hold this discussion in President Trump’s first term, when democracy was subverted by the intelligence agencies and Congress to cripple (the only word) the presidency. Almost insurrectionary. When not even Robert Mueller could defend the report that bore his name before Congress, the men (and women) behind the curtain were revealed for the frauds and charlatans that they are. (A Daily Caller piece from July 24, 2019 highlights several examples of his inability to recall basic facts.) Democracy sure could have used protecting then, but better late than never. President Trump was ready this time, and stole a march on the opposition. No wonder they’re so crotchety. I look forward to Sen. Brownsberger’s exposition on the separation of powers, and the preeminence of the President in matters of the Executive branch. As long as we’re being serious about protecting democracy, that is. The public sure seems to approve, and they’re the demo- of the word democracy.

    • “Almost insurrectionary” distinguishes your fantasies from the ACTUAL insurrection on January 6, 2021, Trump’s insane pardons of the actual insurrectionists notwithstanding (and many of them have reoffended within weeks of the pardons anyway!)

I’m sure you will be at the meeting to share your interesting theories with the Senator.

      • There was no insurrection or insurrectionists. If so, show me who was convicted for it.

        Conversely, crickets will be welcome.

          • It is not absurd. Please learn what absurd means, then respond properly:

            absurd /əb-sûrd′, -zûrd′/
            adjective
            Extremely unreasonable, incongruous, or inappropriate.
            “an absurd request.”
Impossible to take seriously; silly: synonym: foolish.
“a character who goes through many absurd adventures.”

You are unable to prove your allegation. My retort was appropriate and true; your allegation was a lie. Language can be difficult.
