Brrrrr. It has been a chilly February. My recommendations for this week are all indoors, though getting out for a brisk walk in the sun is wonderful as well. On Friday, how about catching the last day of an art show at the Mosesian, one that focuses on the ecology of our planet. Or if you’re more in the mood for being creative yourself, drop in at the Hatch Makerspace for a few hours to learn how to use some of their software and hardware tools. Saturday is national Margarita Day, and the Condesa Restaurante is making it into an all-day and evening celebration. Go margaritas, they deserve a day of their own!
Another cultural celebration is being held on Saturday at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church in the evening. There you can enjoy some Greek cuisine, music and dance (You might not want to mix your tequila with your ouzo). My suggestion for Sunday is a mellow talk called the Sutra of the Month at Artemis Yoga, where you can extend your physical yoga practice into the mind to help you lead a full life in many enjoyable ways.
SHARED HABITAT: ONE FUTURE – Closing Day!
Friday, Feb. 21, 12-6 p.m.
Mosesian Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal St.
At a time when life on our beautiful planet is in imminent danger, artists of Shared Habitat Earth have come together to raise their voices for the home we share with all living things. Through painting, sculpture and photography, the artists dramatize the tension between what all living things have enjoyed for thousands of years, and what will be left if we don’t act now.
The exhibition includes educational material and provides information on how to become active in the response to climate change and engage in the fight for life on our planet. A portion of sales will be donated to selected environmental organizations.

SUTRA OF THE MONTH CLUB at Artemis Yoga
Sunday, Feb. 23, 3-4 p.m
639 Mt. Auburn St.
Based on popular request, these monthly discussions are an opportunity to chat in an informal setting about how to take the yoga “off the mat” and into our daily lives. If you are at curious about the philosophy from which the practice we call yoga emergee. No experience necessary! Each month will discuss a sutra and/or set of linked sutras.
Curated and guided by Rahel Wasserfall with special guest teachers from across the Artemis teaching team each month, this is a wonderful, FREE community program. The Sutras of Patanjali are known as an ancient sage and often considered the father of yoga, Patanjali defines yoga as a means to quiet the mind. The Yoga Sutras are a road map to living a fuller life with the help of what we call “yoga tools.” During these discussions, the group will study together the fundamental Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and explore their applications to our modern lives.
