Weekend Fun: Valentine Dinners, Owls, Gardening & Magic

Print More

It’s Valentine’s Day on Friday, so if you feel like celebrating with your sweetie by going out for a special multi-course meal, I have found three in Watertown that look quite wonderful, Red Lentil, Ravello and Cha Yen (get your reservations!). Saturday morning, whether single or coupled, there is a workshop at Watertown Center for the Healing Arts on how to improve communication with a partner or a date. Perhaps it would come in handy if you had any trouble the night before.

If you would just as soon forget that it’s a day to celebrate Cupid, you might want to head over to Mt. Auburn Cemetery Saturday for a show about owls. I went last year and it’s fascinating and educational for all ages. There are three starting times. It’s popular, so register soon. Once you have learned about owls, you could go to the library to do some garden planning. Your plan might include building an owl house now, as well as a vegetable garden. For those with young ones, the library has scheduled a pirate magic show Saturday morning. They provide fun activities every weekend. I don’t list them all, so it’s worth taking a look at their full schedule when you could use a trip out of the house, and they are all free!
