The Watertown Free Public Library has announced that it will offer U.S. citizenship tutor training sessions this spring. These trainings are intended for anyone interested in helping immigrants prepare for all facets of the naturalization process.
The Library’s English language learning program, Project Literacy, is leading the effort and sessions are open to all. The two-part training in February will be led by Project Literacy’s Citizenship Tutor, Nancy Kleinrock. Nancy has designed a training that can help tutors and advocates understand the citizenship process. She will highlight different ways of teaching U.S. history, civics, and naturalization in fun and interactive ways.
At each session, Kleinrock will provide training materials for prospective citizenship tutors, and anyone who is assisting someone on their path to U.S. citizenship.

About Project Literacy
The Watertown Free Public Library’s Project Literacy offers free services to adults learning to read, write, or speak English. Many are immigrants who are studying English and learning about American culture, and some are native or nearly fluent English speakers who are improving their language skills. Students can improve their job skills, support their children’s education, attend computer classes, and prepare for U.S citizenship.
