A pair of Watertown High School wrestlers took home titles and other Raiders placed at a tournament in Belmont last weekend. And both the WHS girls and boys basketball teams have had successful starts to the season.

Watertown seniors co-captains Brady Gleason and Tessa Master won their brackets at the Brendan Grant Tournament in Belmont, said Watertown Head Coach Kevin Russo.

“Brady Gleason (175 pounds) – was seeded third and came in 1st. He pinned his opponent in the finals. Great day for Brady overall,” Russo said. “Tessa Master (152 pounds) was first place in the Girls tournament on Sunday. Tessa pinned her opponents and won another 1st prize at a tournament. She is getting better each week.”

Master recently placed first at the Lowell Holiday Tournament.

In addition, Jimmy Shrestha placed fifth in the 126 pound class, and Fad Khan got fifth in the 106 pound competition. Russo said Shrestha’ hard work in the off season paid off and Khan is doing well in his first season wrestling.
