Drainage Installation Work Continues
Newport Construction is continuing to complete the drainage installation work along Mount Auburn Street, next beginning their work at the Arlington Street intersection and moving toward Watertown Square on Monday, January 6, 2025. Work will happen between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Monday through Friday.
Catenary Pole Removal Complete
The removal of the poles that once held up the catenary lines has been completed along Mount Auburn Street!
(Note: All dates are approximate and will be dependent on weather conditions and any testing yet to be performed.)
Are there any traffic impacts?
There will be lane shifts during this work on Mount Auburn Street. Also please anticipate a possible detour for those traveling from Belmont Street onto Arlington Street toward the intersection of Arlington Street and Mount Auburn Street. Consider using alternate routes when possible. Police detail and crew members will be on-site to help with traffic flow during work hours.
There is the potential for temporary sidewalk closures in the work area while being completed.
Are there any parking impacts?
Any street parking in the construction area on Mount Auburn Street during this phase may be restricted. Construction crews will post parking closure signs in those areas when applicable.
