A favorite spot for burgers in Watertown will continue to be a burger joint, but will have a new brand.

Wild Willy’s has become Belle’s Burgers and Ice Cream. Belle’s promoted the change on its Facebook page (formerly the Wild Willy’s Watertown page) saying that they will have “Same Great Food, Same Great Staff.” The Wild Willy’s website has a message saying that the restaurant at 46 Arsenal Street is no longer affiliated with Wild Willy’s. The change was posted on Boston Restaurant Talk on Sept. 27.

Belle’s website says:

“For over 20 years, Belle’s has been the go-to burger joint for families across the Boston area. We’re known for crafting exceptional charbroiled burgers using premium ingredients and time-honored techniques. At Belle’s, we’re committed to delivering a classic, satisfying dining experience every time.”

The menu has burgers with local names, including The Arsenal, The Mt. Auburn, Watertown Square Burger, and Waverley Burger.

  1. The local names for the burgers and sandwiches are cute, reminiscent of Darwin’s in Cambridge, which is gone now. But I wonder why they chose Westland, which is way the other side of town.

  2. Travelled down from Maine for the holidays and went to the old standby, Wild Willy’s. Name has changed, building has gone from green to white – but same woman took our order, same guy delivered our food to the table – and the same good burgers, lemonade, onion rings, etc. Given restaurant turnover, I always marveled at Wild Willy’s longevity – seems to be the same place even now.
