Police Log: Moped Stolen, Driver Busted on Warrant

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.

Aug. 17, 2 a.m.: An officer on Main Street ran the plates of a vehicle stopped at a red light and found out that the registered owner had a warrant for her arrest. The vehicle was pulled over and Police confirmed that the owner was driving. Aparecida Vicente, 49, of Watertown, was arrested on the warrant from Roxbury District Court for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Aug. 17, 6:30 a.m.: A moped was stolen from the Residence Inn by Marriott. The moped is valued at $2,000. Police are investigating.

Aug. 17, 7:55 a.m.: The owner of a vehicle parked on Wells Avenue discovered that it had been rummaged through. The vehicle had been parked on Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. and was left unlocked. Nothing of value was missing.

Aug. 17, 2:45 p.m.: A woman wandered around Target and went through the self checkout. She scanned some items but skipped several items, worth $124.78. She left without paying for the items.

Aug. 17, 5:50 p.m.: A woman entered the Nike Store carrying a black bag. She took numerous men’s clothing items and put them into the bag before leaving without paying. About $400 in merchandise was missing.

Aug. 19, 6 p.m.: A man took four items valued at $270 from Best Buy and walked out without paying.

Aug. 20, 2:10 p.m.: Two women went into Carter’s at the Watertown Mall and placed multiple items of baby clothing into a bag and left without paying. The merchandise was worth a total of $330.
