The following announcement was provided by Watertown Cooperative Nursery School:

We are very sad to share the news that Watertown Cooperative Nursery School (WCNS) is closing after more than 70 years. Due to low enrollment, the Board of WCNS has determined that it will not be possible for the school to sustain itself financially. The school will be closing permanently as of August 23.

It’s heartbreaking to have to do this. We know how many of you helped the community thrive for so long. We tried everything we could to find a solution, but it wasn’t enough.

Please join us to celebrate all of the happy WCNS memories we have. We will be meeting at Casey Playground on Friday, August 23 at 4-6 p.m. for cake, bubbles, and friendship. Please invite anyone you know who may want to reminisce with us.
