2024 Watertown Arts Market Features Artists, Music, Authors, Food & More

The Watertown Arts Market returns to Filippello Park in 2024, with dozens of artists, along with musicians, authors, food, and more at the event, which is free to enter.

The Watertown Arts Market will be held on the Grove Street side of Filippello Park (191 Grove St.) on Saturday, Aug. 17, from noon to 5 p.m. (Rain date Sunday, Aug. 18). The annual event began in 2021, and is a place for Watertown’s artists and cultural organizations in Watertown to share their work. 

More than 50 artists, authors, creatives, musicians and music teachers, arts and culture organizations will set up on the Filippello Park basketball courts, including painters, photographers, jewelry makers, fiber artists, printmakers, ceramic makers, and more.

Artists and organizations can sell their work and promote their services. Attendees can enjoy, shop, and learn about the artistic and cultural offerings in Watertown. See the list of participants by clicking here.

Entertainment

Five musical acts will perform, one each hour during the 2024 Watertown Arts Market. Hear Middle Eastern music, a string band, young rockers, classical music, and an accordion player. See the lineup below:

Local dance studios will perform at a stage at the Arts Market, and the local authors and poets will read at the Watertown Lit Squad area.

Food will also be available for purchase during the Arts Market. Food vendors for 2024 will include O’Some Cafe, Campolongo Cookie Company, Super Star Ice Cream, as well as crepe makers and a taco truck.

Getting There

Parking is limited for the Watertown Arts Market, and organizers encourage attendees to walk, bike, or take public transportation to the event.

This year, parking will not be allowed on Grove Street. Parking is available at the BB&N Grove Street Athletic Complex, just north of the Filippello Park Grove Street entrance. Farther up Grove Street, the lot at the Atrium School is also available for people heading to the Arts Market. There are also public parking spaces on Arlington Street and Nichols Avenue, and the municipal parking lot on Wells Avenue.

East Watertown has multiple bike routes that lead to Filippello Park. There are also stops on the MBTA’s 71 bus route on Mt. Auburn Street at Bigelow Avenue heading inbound toward Harvard Sq. (east) or at Kimball Road heading outbound toward Watertown Sq. (west), and on the 70 bus at Forge Road (Near Arlington Street) heading inbound (east) or at Arlington Street heading outbound (west).
