Robert J Weeden of Watertown passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from a brief illness at the age of 83.

He was born in September 13,1940 to Robert E. and Olga M. Weeden of Watertown. Beloved husband of the late Linda E. Weeden. Father to Paul Weeden and wife, Julie of Watertown and Erik Weeden and wife Lynn of Hopedale. Grandfather to Tage Weeden and Davin Weeden of Watertown along with Jenna Weeden and Ashley Weeden of Hopedale.

Robert attended Watertown high school class of 58 and went on for a degree at Northeastern University. He also attended Franklin Technical Institute and earned a certificate in Automotive Technology. Robert served in the Navy in the SeaBees, was a Vietnam veteran. He built and raced dragsters, volunteered as a coach for Watertown Youth Hockey from the late ’60s to the mid-’80s, volunteered as a scout leader for Watertown’s Cub and Boy Scout troops, volunteered for many fundraising activities at the Brown School, and worked for Polaroid Corporation as an engineer until his retirement. Robert thoroughly enjoyed his summers in York Beach, Maine and winters in Watertown. He had a love for family, friends, animals and life.
 
Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell and MacDonald Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24 from 4-7 p.m. Relative and friends kindly invited.
 
Burial services will be held private.
