Following evaluation at the 2024 Junior Nexus Championship, presented by Osaka Hockey, USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce the athletes who have been selected to play in the 2024 Girls AAU Junior Olympic Games, including Reagan Driscoll of Watertown.
This year’s event will take place at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina, from July 29 to August 1. These selected athletes will have the opportunity to participate alongside some of the best athletes in other sports, from across the country. AAU Junior Olympic Games athletes have until Friday, July 19, 2024 to register online through their USA Field Hockey Membership Account. If a player declines their invitation, an alternate will be notified.
The Amateur Athletic Union’s premier multi-sport event, the AAU Junior Olympic Games, brings together more than 14,000 athletes to compete in 20 sports. In the sport of field hockey, USA Field Hockey selects approximately 108 athletes to participate in the annual event. The event provides U-14 and U-16 athletes with the opportunity to experience an Olympic-like multi-sport competition while enjoying the camaraderie and inspiration from other top athletes in other featured sports. Selected athletes are responsible for all their expenses, including the AAU tournament fee, travel, housing and food. The estimated cost of the event includes the registration fee of $295 plus room and board, travel and AAU fees.

Junior Nexus Championship
Driscoll of Watertown was selected to be part of the U-16 Girls Junior Nexus Championship, along with Rachel Egan of Watertown, who was selected to be part of the U-18 Junior Nexus Championship.

USA Field Hockey is excited to announce the athletes who have been selected to compete in the 2024 Nexus Championship, presented by Osaka Hockey, that will take place this July in Virginia Beach, Va. This selection marks the completion of the Regional Selection Camp sessions and the next step in the Olympic Development Pathway and tryout process for the Junior U.S. Women’s National Teams.
USA Field Hockey would like to thank and congratulate the thousands of athletes and coaches from across the country who worked, trained, and competed in the 2024 Nexus and Junior National Team programming.
The players who have been selected will receive an email within the next 24 hours with registration details.
In the event that an invited player is unable to attend, alternates are listed below and will be notified if a roster position opens in their respective age group.
The Nexus Championship will take place July 6 through July 16 at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va. At the conclusion of the Nexus Championship, top performing athletes in qualifying age groups will be invited to participate in the 2024 AAU Junior OlympicGames and additional Junior USWNT selection opportunities.
Selections for the Senior Nexus Championship will be announced following the conclusion of all High Performance Center training opportunities. Additional members of the 2024 Junior U.S. National Teams will compete in the Senior Nexus Championship.
