Watertown students earned degrees at MassBay, University of Hartford, URI, Plymouth State, Emmanuel, Clark, and William & Mary.

MassBay Community College

The following local students have earned a degree from MassBay Community College. Their academic dedication and hard work were celebrated at the College’s 62nd Commencement ceremony on May 23, 2024.

* Gurkan Ozturk of Watertown has earned an Associate in Science Degree in Automotive Technology – BMW.

* Resty Nabiryo of Watertown has earned an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing.

* Sako Janessian of Watertown has earned a Certificate in Computed Tomography.

* Alan Siedman of Watertown has earned a Certificate in Computer Aided Design.

* Floriana Cid of Watertown has earned a Certificate in Phlebotomy.

University of Hartford

Caleb Orvik of Watertown has received the degree of Bachelor of Music from the University of Hartford’s The Hartt School.

Caleb is one of 964 students who received graduate and undergraduate degrees this spring as part of the class of 2024.

The University is thrilled to celebrate the achievements of all our graduates!

University of Rhode Island

The University of Rhode Island celebrated more than 4,100 of its newest alumni during the University’s 2024 Commencement. Nearly 4,000 undergraduate degrees and 800 graduate degrees were conveyed to students during the ceremonies which took place May 17-19, 2024.

Katelynn O’Connor of Watertown received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting, Cum Laude.

Plymouth State University

Timothy McCall of Watertown, MA, graduated from Plymouth State University during its 153rd Anniversary Commencement Ceremony on May 11, 2024. McCall graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management.

McCall was among more than 500 Class of 2024 undergraduate students who received degrees.

Emmanuel College

Julianna Cacia of Watertown graduated from Emmanuel College on Saturday, May 18, 2024, during the College’s 102nd Commencement Exercises on its campus in Boston. Cacia received a Bachelor of Arts in a double major in Liberal Studies and Elementary Education during the ceremony. Cacia graduated magna cum laude.

Clark University

Ben Ramseyer-Gordon, of Watertown, Mass., received a degree from Clark University during the University’s 120th Commencement exercises on Monday, May 20. Ramseyer-Gordon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.

The University awarded 1,376 degrees (503 bachelor’s, 847 master’s, 26 doctoral degrees) to the Class of 2024 and conferred four honorary degrees during the ceremony, which was held at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester, Mass. The graduates included 653 international students representing 39 countries.

William & Mary

Liam McCurley from Watertown, MA, recently graduated from the College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Founded by royal charter in 1693, William & Mary is the second oldest educational institution in the nation. During the past 300 years, the college has educated three U.S. Presidents—Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe and John Tyler—numerous senators and members of congress and other national and international leaders. William & Mary is currently ranked among the nation’s top 10 public universities and has been designated a “Public Ivy.”
