State Representative John J. Lawn, Jr. (D-Watertown) received the Health Care for All (HCFA) Rob Restuccia Leadership Award at the HCFA’s annual For the People reception. The award, presented annually, highlight’s individuals and organizations whose leadership and dedication to and for their communities embody the spirit of Rob Restuccia, the former executive director of HCFA.
The event serves as their biggest event of the year, gathering hundreds of key stakeholders including health care leaders, policy makers, and key advocates together in support of the HCFA mission: to advocate for health justice in Massachusetts to promote health equity and ensure coverage and access for all.
“Chairman Lawn has consistently championed Health Care For All in the Legislature,” said Amy Rosenthal, Executive Director of non-profit organization Health Care For All Massachusetts. “From supporting priority legislation like Cover All Kids to securing funding for our HelpLine, we never question his loyalty and commitment to securing equitable, affordable, and quality health care to every single resident of the Commonwealth.”

Lawn. “Through my personal experience with their HelpLine, I have seen first-hand how essential this organization is to our society. Senior HelpLine Counselor Denise Hayes’s unwavering support was pivotal in swiftly providing my friend Dave with the exact health care resources he urgently needed and catering to his every health need, demonstrating the just how important HCFA is to Massachusetts.”
Health Care for All is a Massachusetts nonprofit advocacy organization working to create a health care system that provides comprehensive, affordable, accessible, and culturally competent care to all residents, especially the most vulnerable. They advocate for health justice in Massachusetts by working to promote health equity and ensure coverage and access for all, with the vision of day when everyone in Massachusetts has the equitable, affordable, and comprehensive care they need to be healthy. HCFA uses a variety of strategies and tools to achieve its mission including direct service support, policy development, coalition building, community organizing, public education and outreach.
The Health Care For All HelpLine fields thousands of calls every year from individuals and families who have questions about or need help connecting to health coverage. Health Care For All’s skilled and compassionate HelpLine counselors work to answer health insurance questions, troubleshoot issues with state insurance programs, and make appropriate referrals. From the calls they receive, trends are monitored, and policy solutions are developed that aim to address the health care challenges of state residents.
