People donning turkey hats, turkey balloons, even turkey costumes took to the streets of Watertown early on Thanksgiving day for the 2023 Donohue’s Turkey Trot.
More than 1,100 people took part in the 18th annual 5K run and walk. Money raised by the event is donated to the Watertown Boy & Girls Club.
The fastest runner was Brendan Wilder, who finished in 16 minutes and 15 seconds.
Sarah Stephenson was the first female runner to cross the finish line, with a time of 17:49.
Young children joined in a shorter kids race, which went around the block near Donohue’s Bar & Grill.
The largest team signed up for the Turkey Trot was Love 4 Lou, which had 63 participants.
Participants and fans enjoyed a free breakfast and drinks at Donohue’s. There were prizes for the age group winners, for best costumes, and a raffle for other prizes.
