Christine I Collini, 89, of Watertown, wife of the late Charles T Collini passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022. She passed with her loving family by her side at Sunrise Senior Living where she was given exceptional care for almost 2 years.
Christine was born in Newton, MA, the daughter of the late Giovanni and Lucia (Cedrone) Vecchione. Christine graduated from Newton High School and worked at Raytheon before starting her family. In later years, Christine worked at the family business, Suburban Lock Co., along side her husband Charles and son Charlie. She enjoyed working at the shop and chatting with everyone who came in to either visit, have keys made, or a lock fixed. She also looked forward to volunteering at the voting polls in town. Christine loved going on trips with her husband, son, daughter and grandchildren, Thomas and McKenzie, who were the light of her life. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Beaton, her husband Tom and their children McKenzie and Thomas of Rockport, son Charlie Collini of Watertown, her brothers Gerald Vecchione and wife Deanna of York, ME and Alfred Vecchione of Natick, MA, her sister in laws Nancy Vecchione of Londonderry New Hampshire and Evelyn Polli of Waltham, MA, brother in law Robert Collini and wife Sally of Waltham, MA as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband Charles, father and mother in law Carlos and Virginia Collini, her six sisters Lena Yobaccio, Laura Russo, Marguerite Thambash, Louise Bove, Bessie Marcuccilli and Mary Tambascio (who died on the same day 9 years ago), as well as her two brothers John Vecchione Jr and Daniel Vecchione.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, to support dementia research, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
Graveside service will be held for Christine on Monday, Jan. 24, at 11 AM at St. Patrick Cemetery on Orchard Street in Watertown. Friends and family will gather at approximately 10:45 AM at the central gate before proceeding to the grave for prayers and burial.
