Once again, the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry Walk of Life will take place in Watertown. The 8th annual event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019.
The event begins at the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center (ACEC), 47 Nichols Ave., and goes 2.2 miles to Saltonstall Park in Watertown Square. The event is the same day as the Faire on the Square, happening at the same park.
On-site registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 11 a.m. Register online until Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. by clicking here. There will also be a raffle.
ABMDR, a nonprofit organization established in 1999, helps Armenians and non-Armenians worldwide survive life-threatening blood-related illnesses by recruiting and matching donors to those requiring bone marrow stem cell transplants.
Any money raised during the walkathon will go towards covering ABMDR’s costs for molecular testing of donors, donor recruitments, harvesting of donors, patient testing in Yerevan and more.
