The following information was provided by the Cambridge Department of Public Works:
Belmont Street, from the Belmont town line to Mt. Auburn Street., is scheduled for upcoming street and sidewalk reconstruction, including both the Cambridge and Watertown sides of the street. The project will also include a connection to the new Cambridge-Watertown Greenway path on Holworthy Street.
The Department of Public Works will be hosting a community meeting on Wednesday May 15 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Russell Youth Center located at 680 Huron Avenue. to discuss the Belmont Street Reconstruction Project.
The project is part of the City’s Complete Streets initiative to design and operate streets that are safe for all users including pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and public transit users. The focus of this meeting will be to discuss the design and construction process and solicit feedback from the community. We encourage you to attend, as we value the feedback we receive from Cambridge and Watertown residents and businesses.
Please note that while the Department of Public Works is working closely with the City of Cambridge Community Development (CDD) department on their Bus Priority Pilot CDD will hold a meeting in early June specific to that project.
