National burger chain Shake Shack will be opening a location in the new Arsenal Yards.
The restaurant will be part of the renovated Arsenal Mall, which is well underway. It will be Shake Shack’s sixth location in the Boston area, including one in Harvard Yard and the newest one in Boston’s Seaport.
The eatery will fit in with the newly renovated mixed-use development, said Tom Wilder, principal of the Wilder Companies.
“Shake Shack’s investment in everything they do from sourcing high-quality ingredients, often from local artisan purveyors, to the investments they make in developing deep ties to their communities is truly unique,” Wilder said. “Their commitment to community, quality food and welcoming atmosphere all contribute to the overall experience that we’re building at Arsenal Yards and we’re proud to welcome them to the neighborhood.”
Shake Shack will be part of the new development, which includes a cinema, retailers, a h0tel, office space and other restaurants. Among the other restaurants will be City Works Eatery & Pour House, part of a small chain of pubs with a long list of beers on tap. Chipotle will also remain at Arsenal Yards.
The first retailers will be opening at Arsenal Yards in 2019.
Went to the one at Chestnut Hill a few years ago, and despite the wait, gave them
a shot, and found them to be vastly overrated… their burgers and fries are average at best.
I’m not against them coming to the Arsenal, and would even give SS a second try.
They’re just not an establishment I look highly forward to or get excited about.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing a Chick-Fil-A or 5 Guys at the Arsenal, but I imagine they’d be viewed as being too pedestrian, middle class and wouldn’t appeal to the type of audience that Boylston Properties is aiming for.
I agree on SS too. I would prefer Chick-Fil-A too. We already have Wild Willy’s near the Square if you want a burger.
For sure I’ll continue my “burger nights” exclusively at Wild Willy’s. Nothing at Arsenal Mall compares.
Love supporting local established businesses.
I too agree…poor puality over rated.
Chick-Fil-a would not be welcome. http://www.businessinsider.com/chick-fil-a-lgbt-twitter-jack-dorsey-apology-marriage-equality-2018-6
Chick Fil A would not be welcome because they’re anti-LGBTQ.

I’m very excited for Shake Shack coming to Arsenal Yards. Their burgers and shakes are fantastic and they use high quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients in all their products.
