Police Log: Packages Stolen from Apartment Building, Woman Busted for Break Ins

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.

Arrest

June 5, 7:08 p.m.: A woman wanted for breaking into to two halves of a two-family home on May 28 was arrested by Watertown Police. The woman was spotted by a man living in the downstairs unit when she was walking through his living room. Then she was seen by the upstairs resident taking a tool bag from his home. Later that day she was seen carrying two white milk crates full of  sporting equipment. The upstairs resident confirmed he was missing milk crates with sporting goods inside from his attic. The 40-year-old homeless woman from Watertown was arrested on two counts of breaking and entering for a misdemeanor and two counts of larceny under $1,200.

Incidents

June 7, 4:15 p.m.: A Whites Avenue resident ordered numerous computers and purses to be delivered. He was on vacation from May 21 to 29 but received confirmation that the packages had arrived. When he returned, however, the packages with the computers and purse inside were missing from the apartment building’s mail area. He had ordered two Lenovo laptops, one Dell laptop, one HP laptop, a Furla purse and a Tori Birch purse. In all they are worth a combined $1,916. Police are investigating.

June 9, 2 p.m.: A customer shopping at Stop & Shop on Watertown Street paid for his groceries, put them in his vehicle, returned the cart and then drove off. After he left he realized he had left his iPhone in the shopping cart. He want back to the store, but it was gone. A store employee found an empty cellphone case in a men’s bathroom. The phone is worth $400. Police are investigating.
