The Watertown Community Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Jan Craige Singer as its new Executive Director.
The Foundation sent out the following announcement:
Jan brings more than two decades of management and entrepreneurial experience in digital media and marketing. She is a passionate believer in the power of small groups of people to build and sustain healthy, vibrant communities. Colleagues describe her as someone who is motivated, motivational, optimistic, and someone who thinks outside the box.
A 25-year resident of Watertown, Jan combined her creative and business acumen as president and managing partner of Big Blue Dot, a Watertown-based boutique brand strategy, design, and marketing agency for kids and families, building an award-winning team serving a client list which included USAA, Disney, P & G, and Unilever.
For the past few years Jan been building her own e-commerce start-up here in Watertown, Konenkii, delivering subscription gift boxes to women north-of-40.
Jan has extensive community ties in Watertown, having run two businesses here, supported local candidates, volunteered at schools, and sat on boards, including having previously served on the Board of the Watertown Children’s Theatre. Jan holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Southern Maine, and a Masters of Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
“We’re very excited about Jan’s depth of experience with for-profit organizations, and look forward to the great ideas and leadership that Jan will bring with that experience to the Foundation,” said WCF Co-President Darshna Varia.
