Watertown High School field hockey players Sydney Poulin and Jonna Kennedy were named to the All-Scholastic teams by the Boston Globe and Boston Herald, and the Globe chose Poulin as the Div. 2 Player of the Year.
The pair helped Watertown win its ninth straight MIAA Div. 2 State Championship in November, and both were co-captains for the Raiders this year.
Poulin scored 28 goals and added seven assists this season to give her a career total of 52 goals and 32 assists. The senior also notched two goals in the state final. Poulin also plays ice hockey and lacrosse for the Raiders and is a member of the National Honor Society. She was also a Herald All-Scholastic last year.
Kennedy, a senior, was named to the All-Scholastic team for the second year in a row. The goalie allowed opponents to score only five times this season, and she had a .188 goals against average this season. In her WHS career she allowed only 13 goals in 69 games. She also is the netminder for the Raiders ice hockey and lacrosse teams. She is a member of the National Honors Society and will play field hockey at Boston College next year.
Both players were named to the Middlesex League All-Stars by the Herald and Globe, and Kennedy was named league Most Valuable Player by both newspapers.
