The group looking at renovating the track and courts area at Victory Field had their first meeting this week, and set dates for in-depth discussions of different portions of the complex.
The first meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee on Victory Field Phase 2 was taped by Watertown Cable and will be shown on cable and on the WCATV.org website.
The committee includes town officials and residents representing youth sports, the neighborhood and the Watertown Schools.
All meetings will be open to the public and will be held in the Lower Hearing Room at Town Hall, unless noted.
Here are the upcoming meeting dates and the focus of the meeting:
Thursday, June 15, 2017, 5-6 pm: Site visit to Victory Field. Meet by the Field House.
Tuesday, June 20, 2017, 7-9 pm: Key element review: Track and field event facilities; and Playing field inside track
Monday, July 10, 2017, 7-9 pm: Key element reviews: Parking area and driveway; and Tennis and basketball courts
Tuesday, July 25, 2017 7-9 pm: Key element reviews: Lighting; and Storm water system, perimeter walls and fences
Monday, August 7, 2017, 7-9 pm: Key element reviews: Other equipment, fixtures, landscaping, amenities; and Other elements not identified in the September 2014 proposal
Tuesday, August 29, 2017, 7-9 pm: Re-review recommendations for all elements to insure consistency and unity; Prioritize recommendations for availability of funding; and Produce draft report to Town Council
Tuesday, September 19, 2017, 7-9 pm: Approve final report to the Town Council
Tuesday, October 3, 2017, 7-9 pm: Extra meeting scheduled if needed to complete tasks.
