Registration is now open for Vacation Garden School, which takes place in August at Church of the Good Shepherd.
The church sent out the following announcement:
We hope you can join us for our sixth summer of fun, wonder, and learning about water, soil, seeds, animals, and harvest!
VGS 2017 will be August 7-11 at Church of the Good Shepherd.
Our purpose is to inspire wonder at the good earth and help children claim their role as stewards of it. We draw on themes and stories from scripture and thank God for our blessings, but we are not evangelical and are open to families of all faiths and no faith.
Campers are 4-7 yrs old and stay for the morning only.
Junior Counselors are 8-10 yrs old and stay till 3 p.m.
In the morning, they help a camper learn, stay safe, and have fun. In the afternoons, they go on field trips to deepen their own learning.
Counselors are 11-13 yrs old and stay till 3 p.m.
In the morning, they serve the VGS community through a variety of servant-leadership roles. In the afternoons, they use their gardening skills to do community service in Watertown.
We invite a $50 contribution per child to cover costs. Email Melanie at vgs@goodshepherdwatertown.org for a registration form. Spots fill as we receive registration forms, so be in touch soon!
