Dear Editor,
My family’s heart and deep condolences go out to the family of Firefighter Joseph Toscano who passed away at the fire of my niece’s home. We pray that God brings strength to his wife, children, family, friends and brothers at this tragic time.
Life will never be the same for them. I know this from first hand experience. Tragedy never heals. You learn over an extremely long time how to go on. Memories that brought rains of tears one day will turn into a smile but that never stops the longing to hold your loved one, whisper a sentiment, share a laugh and a tear. Every event – holidays, a child’s wedding, the birth of a grandchild. These things and many more they will face without the most important man in their lives. This is why I pray for strength. God is good and will hear they’re prayers. His wife and children know the man that has gone to heaven before them. They know what he would want of them after his passing but it’s takes tremendous strength and they will derive that strength from the love and lessons that he taught.
My niece still remains in the Critical Care Unit at Mount Auburn Hospital but today we had to tell her about Firefighter Toscano’s passing. She is deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of this.
May his family always walk in the light that they will find he left for them.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Ballos
