A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church of St. Patrick, Watertown on Wednesday, Nov, 9, 2016 for Eileen M. (Glennon) Brescia at 9 a.m.
Mrs. Brescia, a daughter of the late William and Madeline (Loewen) Glennon passed away in the Katherine Daniels Nursing Facility in Framingham on Wednesday morning. She was 91.
Born in Boston, she grew up in Jamaica Plain, graduating from high school in Boston. She married Len in 1948, moved to Watertown and was married for 58 years. Eileen loved bingo and crafts, but he true love was baking and cooking.
Her family recalled:
This little lady has been such a bright light in our life since the day we were born.
Incredibly loving and caring, and not to mention a little (okay, a lot) feisty at times!
She taught us about good tomato sauce, that each person at the table deserves their own pie, and that you constantly need to “check the ‘padaydahs'” (sound it out!) We’ll miss you, Grandma!
She was the beloved wife of the late Leonardo F. “Len” Brescia. Devoted mother of Linda Maidment of Englewood, Ohio, John J. “Jack” of Milford, Janice M. Kelly of Marco Island, Fla., Theresa A. “Terry” Dawe of Clinton & William L. “Bill” of Clearwater, Fla. Loving grandmother of six grandchildren & one great grandson. Dear sister of the late Marion Annese of Watertown, Bill Glennon of New Mexico and John “Jack” Glennon of Watertown.
Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Wednesday Nov. 9, 2016 at 8 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eileen’s memory may be made to the Kindred Hospice, 406 Hemenway St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
