Maria Halvorsen, popular psychic medium, will headline an event at The Arlington Sons of Italy, on Friday, Oct. 7 from 7-10:30 p.m. to bring messages of love, hope and faith and to raise funds for a scholarship to help women who lack the resources to enter sober housing following treatment for substance use disorder.
Guests will also hear Maryann Frangules, director of MOAR (Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery) speak about the challenges those seeking addiction treatment face in Massachusetts. The night will also include music, performance art and an Italian buffet.
The event is organized by Magnolia New Beginnings, a non-profit that assists families dealing with Substance Use Disorder. The Mariah Lotti Sober Living Scholarship, named for the 19 year old daughter of board member, Rhonda Lotti, who lost her battle with addiction, will enable those on the path to recovery to stay on it and continue to receive support in their return to a healthy and fulfilling life.
Massachusetts has been hit particularly hard by the growing opioid epidemic. The Department of Public Health has named Recovery Support as one of the four key areas that require action to slow the progress of this epidemic. Magnolia New Beginnings is committed to playing a role in this. For more information, or to get involved contact Info@MagnoliaNewBeginnings.org or 855-95-RECOVER.
